It's been a great 2nd week of school!
We're getting into our routine now and getting into the swing of things! Look for a "behavior log" in your child's take home folder. This should provide you with a snapshot of each day. Also, look for homework... no need to panic, we are easing into this! You can expect to see a word ring to come home daily. On Monday, read each word and have your child echo you. On Tuesday, provide help as needed. By Friday, your child should be reading the words to you. Once your child can read them, play games with the words. (Example: Look in any childrens book and go on a Word Hunt, play "I Spy", practice tracing the words, spelling the words, ...).
As far as other homework, look for a math review sheet, and a phonics or reading activity. I will also, occasionally, send home unfinished classwork.
Just a few other things to note:
- Our classroom is FREEZING...please send a sweater or jacket with your student :)
- Please send in some Dollar Store sentence strips (for the word rings)
- If you could send in a container of antibacterial wipes - that would be greatly appreciated too. Lots of runny noses already~
As always, feel free to email me at anytime with any questions, concerns, or comments.
Have an awesome weekend!
Ms. Walther
