I am so happy to have an energetic group this year for Student Council. We are hoping to offer them many opportunities to be leaders in our school and community.
The first meeting was held last Thursday morning at 7:30. It is vital that all representatives be on time for all meetings. We discussed the Lassiter Homecoming parade, Must Ministries can collection, and Relay for Life baseball hat days.
The Lassiter Parade is on Friday, October 21. The students should meet in the Home Depot parking lot about 4:45 that afternoon. The parade will start at 5:30. It is about one mile. You are welcome to walk with us or meet us in the LHS football parking lot. I will be checking the students out there. We will be throwing candy and are asking each member to bring one or two BIG bags of candy to share with the fans. Lassiter asks that we don't bring any chocolate. Please have your student bring me their candy ASAP so that I can combine it all and get it ready to go! I will share more about our theme and float later. Please have your child wear a GM tshirt!
The Must Ministries food collection will be in November. I asked the students to each make 2 posters. They are just very general posters. No dates...Just put something like this:" Must Ministries Food Collection
Help those who are less fortunate Bring your canned or boxed foods and line the halls."
The Relay for Life team has also asked us to help on their Baseball cap days. 4th grade representatives will be helping with the next one!
