December
Winter Break is right around the corner!!!! Last week we learned about transportation and the letter Ee. We made cute little elves for the letter E and they are absolutely adorable!! We took pictures of the students and replaced the elves faces with the students' faces. Please remember to look at them in the hall the next time you are here. This week we have been learning about the letter Dd, reindeer, and day/night skies.
Next week we will be studying "Holidays Around the World." This is a very fun thing for the children to do. Each kindergarten room represents a different country. The countries will include Germany, France, China, Israel, Sweden, Holland, and Mexico. The students rotate from class to class and learn about how the holidays are celebrated in each country.
We will have our "Winter Centers" on Thursday, December 18th at 9:30 a.m. Please let our room parents know if you would like to help with the activites. We will not have regular literacy centers next week due to our "Holidays Around the World" activity.
Friday, December 19th will be pajama day. We will be watching The Polar Express while sipping on hot cocoa and snacking on yummy treats! It will be so much fun!

I hope everyone had a wonderful week! Every child in the room sent in a white t-shirt....YEAH!!!!! Thank you all so much! We studied the letter Pp this week and we also began studying Thanksgiving. We will study the letter Ii next week and continue to study Thanksgiving.
Today your child will be bringing home two at-home projects that will be due next Friday the 14th. One of the projects will require your child to know where he/she lives now and the state, country, and continent where he/she was born. The second project is a fun one that the whole family can get in on! You will get a sheet telling about the activity in your child's folder today. I do encourage the whole family to get involved and be creative. Please do not limit the project to coloring only.
Our special luncheon will be on Wednesday, November 19th at 11:25. Please note or tell the person coming to eat with your child that we will be having a little program of songs immediately following lunch in our classroom.
This week we will be studying pumpkins and the letter Hh. This week is Red Ribbon Week and each day has a fun theme: Tuesday - silly hair, Wednesday - pajama day (please bring sneakers for P.E.), Thursday - red day, and Friday - orange and black day.
I can't believe it is October already!! I hope to see everyone tonight at the Fall Festival. I am sure it will be so much fun for the kids! We have now studied the letters Mm, Ss, Ff, Tt, Cc, and Aa. Next week we will study the letter Nn. The students are doing a great job on the rainbow words, so please continue to have your child study the words at home.
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Last week we studied the letter Ss. We have studied the rainbow words an, am, at, is, go, and it. I will begin testing the children on the red words in a couple of weeks when all red words have been studied. Last week we also talked about our favorite and not so favorite things in our "All About Me" unit. The students made cute models of themselves and they are now in the hallway next to our class.
Barney the Bus will be coming to visit us on Wednesday and we will be learning about bus safety.
Thursday, September 11th is Patriotic Day so everyone wear your red, white, and blue.
