WHAT A GREAT DAY!

D

Dear Parents,

I must tell you that your children are GREAT!  I have never had such a great beginning of the year.  The day went very smooth with the exception of me not knowing they had changed the lunch menu.  We had pizza today instead of bread sticks.  I am so sorry if the children did not get the choice they wanted.

We began the day with a word search that had the student's first name hidden in them.  A hidden picture was next on the daily schedule.  A run down of our schedule was next.  I am sending home ,on Thursday, a copy of our classroom schedule so you can discuss the day with your child. Music was our special today.  A classroom hunt was next where the kids found out interesting facts about their classmates. An addition timed test was next.  We will have a subtraction timed test tomorrow.  The First Day Jitters  was a book with a surprise ending.  We ended the day with photo taking and reading letters from last year's kids.

All in all the day was a huge success.  I had a nice time getting to know your child.  Please take a few minutes tonight to review the day and sign your child's agenda.  They also need to bring a silent reading book to school tomorrow.  Thanks for all your support and the work you have obviously done with your child.  We will do it again tomorrow!

As always my door is open to you so if you have questions please ask.

*Target Days are Wednesday, with Mr. Bayer and will begin the week of August 18th.

                                                         Sincerely,

Mrs. Moore

Picture DAy Cancelled

Due to so many people having no electricity today,  pictures were not taken today.  I will let you know when they are rescheduled.

Talent Show is this Friday 2/29 6:30-8:00 Hope to see all of you there! The teachers will be performing a nifty number.

For those students who do not pass the CRCT the summer school dates are June 4-26 and the reading of the CRCT is June 25th and the math is June 26th.  Make up day for both tests  is June 27th.  I hope this does not apply to any of us but I am required to pass this on to you.

I would like for all my students to take the practice tests at home.  I gave you a student number during conferences that you will need.

We had a visit from The Chattahoochee Nature Center today from 12-1.  He conducted a lesson on endangered species lesson and brought many different items for the children to see.

Meet at the Movies January 12th at 1:20 PM

Dear Parent,

Many of the children read the book Water Horse in literature circles.  We all decided that we would like to attend the movie together.  Here is the deal, "I will meet you there to watch a movie.  I can not be  responsible for your child outside of school.  So....if you want to bring your child and stay with your child and watch the movie together as the best classroom ever then......... I will meet you there.  I will try to get there early and save a section for us.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

  New20years_2

Happy New Year!! I hope everyone enjoyed their winter vacatioin! Hopefully our students are rested and ready to learn.

Just a few reminders as we return to school

  • Monday  Jan. 21  No School - Martin Luther King Holiday
  • Jan. 22-28 Conference Week - 12:30 dismissal each day
  • Cobb County elementary schools have been given permission to delay the distribution of report cards from the current published date (January 11th) to the dates that coincide with conferences in January ( January 22-28).
  • Please replenish your child's school supplies for the second half of the year. Many need pencils, crayons/colored pencils, scissors, glue sticks, etc. Our school store does carry these items and is usually open Monday and Thursday mornings before the morning bell rings.
  • Please watch the weather forecast carefully during the coming months, and dress your children appropriately. As we all know, the temperature Jan.-March could be a sunny 70 degrees or an icy 25! We always say, "If you don't like the weather here, just wait a minute, and it will change!!"
