"Why do Neurons Like Email?"
They like sending and receiving messages!
Mrs. McEaddy's fourth and fifth grade students are collaborating with their team members on their brain projects. Fourth graders are working on videos to include in their presentations while fifth graders are polishing up their power point skills. Students have been working very diligently; I can't wait to see the end products! These projects will be presented the week of December 4th.
Many students have elected to work on an optional project. Students were given a list of over twenty-five ideas for this optional project, which is based on their multiple intelligences. These are due the first week of December as well.

"Why do potatoes make good detectives?"
Because they keep their eyes peeled!
Second graders recently solved the Great Chocolate Caper (Jewell Treasure was the criminal) in a very competent manner. They have been conducting experiments using chromatography, powder analysis, fingerprinting, lip-printing, and teeth impressions in their quest to understand detective work and mysteries. On November 29th, they will go on-line to solve another mystery!
Second graders were also given a choice of several optional projects from which to choose. They may write a mystery, conduct research on a world mystery, or do a report on a mystery writer or a detective. In addition, they may act out scenes, create artwork to represent their project, or demonstrate proper crime-solving methods. These projects are due on December 13th.
On December 13th, we will have a guest speaker from the Cobb County Police Department. An officer will visit our classroom to discuss various aspects of solving crimes. Students will formulate appropriate questions to ask the officer prior to his/her visit.
