I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving break.  Remember, that Cobb county school system will experience a lost of power during the Thanksgiving break to allow for system updating.

Square 1 art orders are beginning to be returned along with big smiles from the students 05_coil_pottbcarrying the orders.

In the art room 3-5 graders are starting projects focusing on the art element - Form.  The projects mainly deal with one of the students favorite materials clay.  The lower grades K-2 are starting projects focusing on the art element - Colors.  We are exploring how to mix colors and how colors are grouped into different categories.

Square_1 Remember, all Square 1 art orders must be turned in by Monday, October 27.

Jack2 We have started the month of September focusing on one of the simplest Elements of art: line.  The 5th grade - 1st grade students have been using a variety of lines around their name to create some very cool pieces of artwork.  Kindergarten has also been focusing on the Element of line to learn how to make stars.

Remember that the art room is always in need of a few household items such as, empty egg cartons, empty coffee cans, old ribbon, and clean empty yogurt cups.

Square_1  We have been super busy in the art room.  All the Garrison Mill students have started working on their artwork for Square 1 art and so far all the artwork looks amazing.  Information about Square 1 art will be going out later in the fall.  Remember that a portion of the proceeds go back to the art department.  The proceeds help me purchase more art supplies and equipment for your students to benefit from.   If you would like to learn more about Square 1 art, feel free to visit the website www.square1art.com.
