Welcome to first grade. My name is Sharon Hanna and I am excited and honored to be your child's teacher this year. I will be working together with you to make this a fantastic year full of learning, growing, sharing, and fun.
I am originally from Portland, Oregon but moved to Georgia in 1980. I attended Dickerson Middle School and Walton High School. I received my Early Childhood Education Degree from Berry College in Rome, Georgia. This is my 16th year teaching.
My family currently resides in Cobb County. I have been married for 27 years to my high school sweetheart, John, and have two wonderful daughters. My oldest daughter is Alix and she is 23 years old. Tori is 20 years old and is a junior at the University of Georgia.
I began teaching in 1989 after graduating and taught for 6 years before deciding to stay home with my daughters. I spent 9 years volunteering at their elementary school, Garrison Mill. I returned to teaching in 2008 once my youngest daughter completed elementary school. I feel very lucky to be at such a great school and to be part of the Garrison Mill family.
I am looking forward to working with you and your child. I believe it takes a partnership between you, your child, and myself working together to make the best educational experience possible.
