Media Center News for September & October

     The media center is open from 7:25 a.m. until 2:20 p.m. every day that students are in school.  It is closed for teacher in-service and workdays.  The media center is not open after school for Accelerated Reading testing.

     Books are checked out to students for 10 school days.  After that time, overdue notices are sent to students.  Elementary schools do not charge fines for late books.  If you child loses a book or the book is damaged beyond repair, please call the media center.  You will be given the cost of the book.  If the book has been lost and then is found at a later date, your money will be refunded.

     Our next Reading Night will be Monday, October 27th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Students may come with their parents to take Accelerated Reading tests, read, or use the media center computers for research purposes.

     The media center is the hub of our school.  It is a busy place with students and teachers in and out all day.  If you would like to volunteer in the media center, please contact Sarah Marton at sarahmart@bellsouth.net.

     Parents are always welcome in the media center.  Mrs. Dempsey, our media paraprofessional, and I are always glad to help in any way that we can.
