The Garrison Mill media center is open each and every school day from 7:25 a.m. until 2:20 p.m. Our students are welcome to come at any time during the day to check out a book, take Accelerated Reader tests, locate information for an assignment, or use the computers. Unfortunately, the media center is not open after school hours.
Garrison Mill parents are welcome to check out books during the school year. Just come by the media center and sign up for check out priviledges. Parents may check out 5 books at a time and keep them for 10 school days. Students may not check out books under their parent's name unless the parent is present.
The media center staff is always glad to help you find books to satisfy your child's Accelerated Reader requirements. Additionally, we will be happy to help you find a book to read to your child's class. Please send an email or call the media center office for a read aloud book a few days in advance so that we can find just the right book for you!!
You are invited to come to the Reading Nights in the media center that are scheduled throughout the school year. At this time, your child can read books and take Accelerated Reader quizzes to complete A/R requirements for the 9 week grading period.
Our parent volunteers are one reason that the Garrison Mill media center runs so smoothly. Without their assistance, our students and teachers would not enjoy the level of "customer service" that currently takes place each and every day. Many thanks to the media center volunteers and coordinator.
