Hello!

Lori Let me introduce myself...my name is Lori Schulman.  I am a Technology Para Educator at Garrison Mill Elementary.  I have a Bachelor's degree in Business and a computer minor.  I worked for IBM for many years and took a sabbatical to have three wonderful children.  I was not ready to go back to the corporate world and thought I might like to teach. I taught pre-school for a while and then ended up at “GM,” where I have been for the last six years.  I absolutely love technology and working with children, so I cannot wait to get started in my new position…it’s the best of both worlds!  I adore my Garrison Mill family and I am looking forward to assisting all of our wonderful students and faculty with bringing technology-rich projects into the classroom.

Technology Use in the Classroom

Accoring to Jim Fitzgerald, in a June 24, 2006 article in USA Today, robots help hospitalized students keep up with their school work and their friends.  The robot in the hospital allows the student to view the activity in the classroom, while its robot counterpart gives the student a "telepresence" in the classroom.  To read further, click here:  Hospital Robots.

Technology Fair

All Cobb County students, grades 3 though 12, are invited to participate in the 3rd annual North Metro Regional Technology Fair, to be held on Saturday, February 3, 2007.  For more information, click here:  Fair Details.

What's new at GM?

Stay tuned for upcoming news from our students regarding their web quests, web-based scavenger hunts, PowerPoint presentations, and other "techno" projects.
