August/September 2007

We have gotten off to a wonderful start this school year.

I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with some new friends.

Special Education changes at Garrison Mill this year involve many students remaining in their homeroom classes all day and having the luxury of a special education teacher working in the classroom along with a general education teacher, all day.  This teaching model is called co-teaching. 

Some students are not yet ready for this type of learning environment, neededing more support and/or a quieter environment in which to be successful learners.  We continue to have a Resource or Small Group room for these students.

I am working as a Resource teacher for second and third grades this year.  My room is located off the mailroom.  Please email me with any questions and/or concerns you have.  I am truly looking forward to working with your children and with you this year.
