Wow! September is here and we are rolling right along. What a GREAT class! They are eager to learn and work very hard. Just some housekeeping items...even though I will be updating the blog, I will also send home a "weekly reminders" every week. Also, if your child is ever absent, please send a note when they return and if it is more than a couple of days, I will often e-mail or call.

Language Arts - The care of books, picking out books, left to right - all known on "Performance Standards" as "concepts of print". Today we also spoke about "previewing" and "sequencing" (1st, next, then, and last). We have also discussed poems, rhymes, rhyming words, and sorting words ending in "at" and "an".

Math - We have done our first "exemplar". Way to go! They did a great job for it being the first time. We have been working on position words and integrating math with language arts and sequencing. Today the Three Bears story was told and we talked about sizes of things. It actually should have come home today.
