What a trip! Driftwood was absolutely amazing! The weather could not have been more perfect. Our chaperones were the BEST and the students enjoyed themselves all while learning about barrier island dynamics, weathering and erosion, teamwork, reptiles, and even swimming with dolphins! We made memories that will last forever. I am so glad to have the opportunity to attend this trip with your children. A big shout out to the dads that attended - you were amazing and we cannot thank you enough.
Now, on to the academics. Our schedule for next week is altered somewhat due to the ITBS testing. Please make sure your child is at school on time, that they have had a good breakfast, and a good night's sleep.
Language Arts/Reading - Monday - students have a test on nouns. We are finishing up the unit this week in class and will be reviewing on Friday. The material should not be new for them at all. Make sure students continue to update their reading log as they finish a book. Vocabulary assessment on lesson 3, Wordly Wise is this Friday.
Science - There will also be a end of unit science assessment on Tuesday 10/11 for Mrs. DeLass's class.
Social Studies - Students will be reconstructing the country after the Civil War. Check for the Civil War assessments in this week's Thursday communication folder.
A special thanks to Mr. Reither for visiting the classrooms to share his knowledge about the Civil War and area battles. We really appreciate you taking the time to come see us.
If you have a special request for a conference time, please contact me via email as soon as possible. I will begin scheduling conferences for the week of October 24th tomorrow.
