Clark’s Beachside News for the Week of 8/22-8/26:

 

Math:  We are working on strategies to help us solve and write simple addition problems. We are learning new vocabulary: plus+, equal=, and the sum.  Next week, we will be learning strategies to help us solve and write simple subtraction problems.

Phonics:  We are working on the initial sounds for n,o,t

Handwriting:We are working on the following letters Nn, Oo, and Tt.  Ask your child what a head line, mid line, and base line is?  

Reading: During Shared Reading time, we are learning how to choose the right book for ourselves and how to take care of our books in the classroom.

Science:  For the next 2 weeks, we will be exploring the 4 Seasons and the different types of weather.

Writing:  We are working on developing ideas, organizing our ideas and making simple sentences from our thoughts.  Each sentence must have a capital letter at the beginning of the sentence and a period at the end.  An example of our writing this week:  3 things I did this Summer…
