We are planning to schedule pick-ups for Sunday afternoon, April 27^th, but we may be able to make other arrangements.

1st & 4th Grades Vision/ Hearing Screening

On October 30th and 31st a vision and hearing screening will be conducted for all students in 1st and 4th grades.  This screening is not a sustitute for a complete vision or hearing examination, but rather a way to identify students who may be in need of further examination.  You will be notified if your child does not pass one or both of these screenings. 

Laura Miller and Pam Britton

Mrs. Miller is the counselor for 1st and 4th grades at Garrison Mill.  She earned her B.A. from Samford University and then attended Georgia State University where she earned both her M.S. and Ed.S. in Community and School Counseling. Mrs. Miller began her career as a Licensed Professional Counselor but has worked as a school counselor for eight years.  Mrs. Miller lives in Marietta with her husband and two of her three daughters.  She enjoys boating/waterskiing, reading, time with her family, and being at Garrison Mill!!

Mrs. Britton is the counselor for Kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades at Garrison Mill.  She earned her B.A. in Special Education from Tennessee Tech University and a M.S. in School Counseling from West Georgia University.  She also has an Ed.S. in School Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University.  She has 29 years of experience in teaching and counseling and has been at Garrison Mill for 9 years.  Mrs. Britton and her husband reside in Woodstock, and she loves to decorate and travel!

The mission of the Garrison Mill Elementary school counseling program is to ensure a safe and supportive environment in which all students acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for academic, career, and personal/social development in order to become life-long learners, creative thinkers, and responsible individuals.
