Dear Parents,
As October winds down, we look ahead to a very busy November. We will be celebrating the holidays with family and friends at our special luncheon. Our scheduled luncheon time is November 18th at 11:35. Parents, grandparents, and/or friends are invited to the classroom at 11:15 for a presentation and a chance for Grandparents and Parents to try some technology in our classroom. Lunch will follow. A reservation form will be coming home soon in the Thursday folder.
Baby pictures for the 2011-12 yearbook have been slow in coming in. Please remember to send baby pictures in. Information on this was sent home two weeks ago.
Immigration Day/Ellis Island is planned for November 29th. Students in both classes will be expected to complete a family tree by the 29th. This is a wonderful time for students to learn more about their family, culture and heritage. Please spend some time helping your child to create a wonderful keepsake. Students will also be required to learn and recite a poem about ancestors. Students should not delay practicing this poem. Both the immigration packet and poem choices will come home in this week's Thursday communication folder. The students’ favorite part is the ethnic food!! Be thinking about an ethnic dish that you may be able to contribute for the students (and teachersJ )to try!
Looking forward to seeing everyone at conferences this week.
Mrs. Brindley
